HAFLONG: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya wrapped up his two-day visit to Dima Hasao on Friday, where he presented radio sets and megaphones to Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC). This distribution was part of the "Governor Assam Amrit Sarovar Sadbhavna Sangat Protsahan Yojana," which aims to transform Amrit Sarovars into centers for public participation and community engagement in nation-building efforts.

During the visit, Governor Acharya held meetings with leaders of different social, spiritual, and political entities, such as ISKCON, Prajapita Brahmakumari, and Ramakrishna Mission. He urged such organizations to support the welfare of society, as he stressed how social progress needs collective action.

The Governor praised Dima Hasao for its breathtaking scenery and rich cultural heritage, terming the district as a model of inclusiveness and mutual respect. He emphasized the harmonious coexistence of various communities and pointed out that local festivals and traditions are important in promoting unity and cultural pride.

On his visit, Governor Acharya also conducted prayers at Sibarai Hading Shiv Temple in Boro Haflong and symbolically planted a sapling to encourage growth and sustainability. The visit concluded with a lively cultural presentation by local talent that highlighted the artistic culture of Dima Hasao and the traditions of the district.
