TINSUKIA: Lakshman Acharya, Governor of Assam, during his maiden visit to Tinsukia on Sunday reviewed an inter-departmental meeting at DC’s Conference Hall. He took stock of the development works with the heads of each department and made several important suggestions for improvement.
He directed the officers to ensure that every eligible person gets the benefits of government schemes. “We should do things not out of fear or compulsion, but out of interest or a spirit of service. It should be regarded as a privilege to have the opportunity to do such a thing,” said the Governor. Earlier the Governor was warmly welcomed by District Commissioner Swapneel Paul and gave a brief presentation on the progress of various on-going projects including flagship schemes of the Central Government.
The meeting was attended by the State Labour and Tea Tribes Welfare Department Minister Rupesh Guwala, MLAs of Tinsukia, Margherita, Chabua, Tinsukia Superintendent of Police Abhijit Gurav, Sadiya Superintendent of Police Jagdish Das, DDC Pabitra Kumar Das, and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Gurnel Singh besides all district officials.
