Assam Governor Tours Dima Hasao, Honors Freedom Fighter Veer Sambhudhan Phonglo

Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya arrived in Dima Hasao on an official tour. He was welcomed at New Haflong Railway Station by the CEM of DHAC Debolal Gorlosa along with district officials.

HAFLONG: Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya has arrived in Dima Hasao on an official tour. He was welcomed at New Haflong Railway Station by the CEM of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa along with district officials.

The Governor received a Guard of Honour at the Circuit House Haflong, accompanied by Area MLA and Cabinet Minister Nandita Gorlosa. The Governor's first day included a visit to the statue of freedom fighter Veer Sambhudhan Phonglo in Haflong to celebrate Martyrs Day.

He also visited Samparidisa, one of Assam’s cleanest villages, located 16 km from Haflong. During his visit, the Governor interacted with villagers, including the village head, ex-servicemen, and beneficiaries of various schemes like Orunodoi and PMGKAY.

He also inspected the JJM scheme and visited Samparidisa L.P. School to interact with students.

Meanwhile, Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya, along with Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, held a video conference with District Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to discuss the implementation of eight schemes initiated by Raj Bhavan.

Governor Acharya emphasized the importance of swift and transparent execution to benefit the people of Assam. He highlighted the role of these schemes in promoting youth leadership and skill development.

The Governor assured necessary logistic support from Raj Bhavan and urged cooperation from all DCs and SPs for the effective implementation of these schemes.
