Assam: Greenfield airport to come up in Diphu

DIPHU: It is a matter of great pride for the people of Karbi Anglong Region that a greenfield airport will come up shortly in Diphu. The Consultant namely, SRV Techno Engineering Pvt Ltd & DSDNA, New Delhi has submitted final Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Construction of Greenfield Airport at Diphu to Dr. Tuliram Ronghong, the Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Diphu and Member of Parliament Horen Sing Bey on Monday.

Someshwar Thakur, the Managing Director of the consultant company namely SRV Techno Engineering Pvt Ltd & DSDNA, New Delhi was called upon by the CEM to give presentation before the Executive Members of the council.

The Executive Members, Secretaries and other members of the council attended the presentation and appreciated the proposal for construction of airport, just a day before the Independence Day. The people from this region can access direct air connectivity to Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai and other parts of the country. Borlangfer area in Diphu circle has been selected by the expert committee of the consultant company for the airport. The new airport shall bring employment in the region and create opportunities for commercial development around the vicinity of the airport, stated a press release.
