Moran: A Vishwakarma puja party in Assam's Moran went horribly wrong when the host accidentally fired shots from his .32 pistol, injuring one person. The host was immediately arrested. Police said that the incident occurred in the Chutia Gaon in the morning hours of Thursday (September 17), while Bishwakarma Puja celebrations were going on.

"After conducting an enquiry, we filed a case, and the man has been arrested. Arms and ammunition have been recovered and we have launched an investigation into the matter. Several persons are also being interrogated," an official said.

According to reports, while the Vishwakarma Puja get-together was going on, and the guests were busy enjoying themselves. Right in the middle of the celebration, however, shots got fired accidentally from host Tinku Gogoi, alias Thapa's .32 pistol. The stray bullets hit one of the guests, who was severely injured.

After the mishap, police seized the pistol, 26 rounds of active ammo, and 4 blank cartridges from Gogoi, who was put behind bars. Further investigation is going on.
