Guwahati: In a step towards a cleaner and greener city, Guwahati Police conducted a series of cleanliness drives and sapling plantations across all police stations under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

As part of the Swachata initiative, teams from every police station took part in the activity on Monday, aiming to promote environmental responsibility and honour the spirit of motherhood through tree planting.

Officers cleaned station premises and nearby areas, while also planting saplings in designated spots. The campaign is being viewed as a thoughtful blend of community service and environmental awareness.

Senior officials said the initiative not only encourages a green lifestyle but also strengthens the police-public relationship through such positive social efforts.
