SIVASAGAR: A hands-on Training Centre was inaugurated by Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal and IIC Chairperson of Gargaon College. The programme was graced by Dr Diganta Konwar, Vice-Principal, Dr Surajit Saikia, IQAC and IIC Coordinator, and Niharika Phukon, invited trainer and resource person, owner of Niharika Foods, Dhitaipukhuri.
In the inaugural speech, Dr Mahanta appreciated the initiative taken by the IIC Gargaon College and emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in today’s world. He mentioned that the hands-on training centre will be a learning centre for the students and in the coming days it will mark a significant step towards enhancing skill training opportunities.
Under the aegis of the Institutional Innovative Cell, Gargaon College, a one-day workshop on cookies making was also organized. Phukon trained around 20 students of the college to make 6 different varieties of Cookies along with the packaging. The workshop was also attended by many faculties of various departments of the college. The programme was moderated by Dr Kabita Phukon, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Gargaon College. Dr Phukon offered the vote of thanks to all the participants and the resource person for making the workshop a grand success.
