SILCHAR: In a successful raid, the Cachar Police on Sunday seized a huge quantity of suspected heroin worth Rs 6.5 crore. SP Numol Mahatta informed that the Cachar Police along with the STF in a joint operation at Sonabarighat in Sonai intercepted a car reportedly coming from Churachandpur of Manipur. During the search, police recovered 105 soap cases staged in a secret chamber inside the vehicle and recovered 1.239 kgs of substances which were suspected to be heroin. Police arrested three persons namely Chimlam, 37, of Churachandpur, Mohamda, 32, and Shahrukh Ali, 25 of Barpeta. Price of the substances in the black market would be nearly Rs 6.5 crores, Mahatta claimed.
