Assam: Hojai Senior Citizens to Meet on May 18 at Rajagaon

HOJAI: The first Annual General Meeting of Hojai District Senior Citizens' Association (HDSCA) is to be held at Rajagaon within Hojai District on May 18. As per the information received by Anup Kumar Barthakur, General Secretary, HDSCA, in this context, a meeting was organized at Singimari Gaon Panchayat, where more than hundred members of the association participated and shared their views on organizing the first Annual General Meeting of HDSCA.

The meeting was organized under the presidency of Babul Chakraborty, President, Rajagaon Senior Citizens' Association, where KK Sarma, President, HDSCA, Dr Guneshwar Saikia, Working President, HDSCA, Anup Kumar Barthakur, General Secretary, HDSCA, and many other prominent members of HDSCA attended and addressed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Anup Kumar Barthakur said that the Hojai District Senior Citizens' Association's motto is to work for the welfare of senior citizens and fight for their rights. He apprised everyone about the constitution of Assam Senior Citizens' Association and how the association is continuously working for the betterment of senior citizens. He further highlighted the various government schemes available for senior citizens.

On the other hand, all the prominent members also kept their views forward. After that, a strong reception committee was formed for the first Annual General Meeting-cum-open session to be held at Rajagaon on May 18. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks by Krishna Ram Bordoloi, Secretary, Rajagaon Senior Citizens' Association.
