

Guwahati: The results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination were declared on June 7 and Raktotpal Saikia, who hails from North Lakhimpur topped the exam. Raktotpal, who happens to be a student of St. Mary's High School, North Lakhimpur, grabbed the top spot with 597 marks. 2,29,131 students in total have cleared the HSLC 2022 exam which was conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA). As many as 4,05,582 students have appeared for the HSLC examination this year, out of which, 64101 candidates have secured third division, followed by 99854 in second division and 65176 students have clinched the first division. Notably, the pass percentage stands at 56.49 per cent. It is worth mentioning that the boys have outshined girls during this year's HSLC exams. The pass percentage amongst the boys stands at 69.93 per cent while 62.91 per cent of girls who appeared for the exam have cleared the same. Meanwhile, the second rank has been secured by Bhuyashi Medhi from Little Flower School, Nalbari. The third position has been grabbed by three students, who are Mridupaban Kalita from Don Bosco High School, Kheroni (Karbi Anglong) , Labeeb Muzib from Don Bosco HS School, Boiragimath (Dibrugarh) and Partha Pratim Das from Lohit Dikrong HS School, Bihpuria (Lakhimpur). OF Dima Hasao district has delivered the best performance with 81.31 per cent students clearing the examinations from this region and it is followed by Sivasagar district which recorded a pass percentage of 81.71 per cent. On the other hand, Chirang happened to be the worst performing district with 34.27 per cent students clearing the exams and it is followed by Hojai with 37.29 per cent.
