
TINSUKIA: In an effort to uplift and augment livelihood of Veer Naris, wards of Ex-Servicemen and women of Upper Assam and so also to promote national pride, Laipuli Brigade of Indian Army under Central Government Scheme-Jan Shikshan Sansthan funded by Operation Sadbhavana has established a stitching centre with primary objective of hand stitching organic National Flags. The stitching centre was inaugurated at Laipuli, Tinsukia on Thursday.
The stitching centre is one of a kind path-breaking initiative established in the remote and insurgency-affected districts of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh where peace is finally being restored. It is a community driven initiative that aims to harness collective talent and skills of local ladies of Upper Assam and recognize crucial role that women play in joining communities which functions with the theme ‘Threads of Harmony; Empowering Women, Weaving Communities’
