Body of Newborn Recovered From a Cardboard Box in Assam's Cachar

GUWAHATI: In the Cachar region of Assam, the body of a newborn baby packed inside a cardboard box was discovered on 14 March close to a forest area.

According to reports, a resident of the Katigorah constituency first discovered the newborn's body in the bush region next to Gammon Bridge on National Highway No. 6.

He quickly notified the Katigorah police and the villagers, and later the police recovered the dead body and transported it to the police station with the assistance of the local people. The body's identity has not yet been determined.

The situation is being looked into by the police, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.

In another, incident, the main suspect in the March 9 murder of a 1-year-old infant in Gohpur, Assam, was taken into custody by Assam Police on Friday morning.

The arrest was made as a result of the deceased's mother's confession, in which she claimed that her son had been murdered by Sachin Bordoloi, who was also his father.

According to the police, the accused left the crime scene immediately after doing it, took a train to Cementchapri, and returned home by 3 p.m.

The child's mother alleged that the child's father had killed him. In response to the complaint, the police detained him. So far, it has emerged that he committed the crime as a result of some family issues. Speaking to the media about the situation, the police official added.

The tragic tragedy came to light after the one-year-old's body was discovered in Gohpur, Assam. The infant would have been celebrating its first birthday, but his life was taken before that could happen, as was later discovered.

After learning about the tragedy, the child's mother hurried to the Gohpur scene, where the body was discovered. She found her dead child there and sobbed uncontrollably.

Initial reports state that a bicycle and a shopping bag were also discovered close to the crime scene in Gohpur. According to reports, the father had brought the child along under the pretense of going shopping.
