JAMUGURIHAT: The 2nd annual Inter-College Debate Competition convened by Chatia College was recently held on the topic ‘Social media plays an important role in higher education.’ Sumanta Rajbangshi, Assistant Professor of THB College and Maini Saikia, Assistant Professor of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, graced the competition as judges with Dr Anjal Barua, Assistant Professor of Chatia College, as speaker.

Anuprenona Mahanta from a Darrang College won the first prize along with a cash amount of five thousand rupees, and a memento besides other prizes. Gyan Jyoti Sarma from Chhayduwar College won the second prize along with a cash amount of three thousand rupees, a memento, and other prizes. Similarly, the third prize, along with a cash amount of one thousand rupees and other prizes was won by Samiran Deuri from Rangapara College. The programme, hosted by Dr Anushree Adhikari, Assistant Professor of Chatia College, was conducted by Dr Surajit Saikia, Assistant Professor of the college. The programme was attended by Dr Swapan Kumar Kalita, Principal of the college, Anuj Kumar Saikia, Vice-Principal, and Mala Bordoloi besides other teachers and students.
