MANGALDAI: Darrang district administration and Darrang police marked the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with two impactful programmes on Thursday. In the first, all ranks from Mangaldai police station, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Rosy Talukdar and Officer-in-Charge Inspector Chandan Jyoti Bora, organized a spirited road march through the town’s main thoroughfare. The ‘Men in Khaki’ were joined by the members of the Village Defence Organization and thana-level Nagarik Committee, carrying placards and banners to raise awareness. In a parallel event, Mangaldai Legislator Basanta Das and District Commissioner Parag Kumar Kakaty led a vibrant motorcycle rally, with enthusiastic participation from the youth, to underscore the day’s significance.
