Assam is safe and secure until BJP is in power: Sarbananda Sonowal

LAKHIMPUR: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal once again made a blistering attack on the Congress for forging an alliance with the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) and alleged that the both political parties were hatching a conspiracy against Assam and the Assamese community.

"At present, a political threat has posed in front of Assam. The threat is of a conspiracy hatched by the Congress and AIUDF. Through their alliance, both parties are hatching a conspiracy in order to rehabilitate illegal migrants in the villages and tea garden areas of the State. AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal cannot be acceptable for the Assamese community, as the political party is always working in favour of illegal migrants from Bangladesh. Forging the alliance with the party, Congress has proved that it has also working in favour of illegal migrants, and it will be working for them in future too," Sonowal asserted.

The Chief Minister said so while campaigning for Naba Kumar Doley, the BJP-AGP-UPPL-Sanmilito Gana Shakti, Asom Alliance candidate for No. 112 Dhakuakhana Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC), attending a public rally organized on Tuesday at Gojai-Monai Kshetra under Boginadi area of Lakhimpur district. In the connection, the Chief Minister appealed to the people of the State to defeat the conspiracy and root out the Congress and AIUDF in the Assam Legislative Assembly Election - 2021.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the BJP-led State Government had ensured comprehensive development across the State covering all the tribes and communities during the last five-year term of the government. In this regard, he added that the BJP government had taken epoch-making steps in order to erase corruption in the government machinery, to control terrorism and to bring back peace to the State, to evict the encroachment in Kaziranga National Park, to check unabated killing of one-horned rhino, to provide free of cost admission facility to students and to ensure comprehensive pursuance of higher education.

"Moreover, due to the effective initiative of our governments at the Centre and in the State, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted the North East Water Development Authority with the deputy chairman of the NITI Ayog as chairman in order to control flood and erosion of the State. The development in the State along with the nation has been possible only because of our Prime Minister's noble ideology of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash, Sabka Viswas'. Peace has come back to the State for engaging ourselves to establish solidarity and cordiality among the communities of the State. The BJP-led government has brought composure back to Assam and provided a healthy environment to the people of the State. Assam is safe and secure until BJP is in power," the Chief Minister added while highlighting the achievements of the flagship schemes adopted and implemented by the governments in the State and at the Centre.
