DIBRUGARH: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that Dibrugarh University will be introducing a Japanese language course starting next academic year.
“Taking forward our plans to equip youths with Japanese language skills, Dibrugarh University will start with Japanese language course from next academic year,” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said. Recently, a Japan Caravan was organized on the campus by the Japan Foundation to lay the foundation for the upcoming engagements, he said.
Dibrugarh University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mirai Japanese Learning Center last year. The collaboration was aimed at introducing Japanese language courses tailored for students, enabling them to tap into the growing demand for skilled professionals in Japanese-speaking markets.
The Mirai Japanese Learning Center, known for its comprehensive language programs, offers a 100% placement in Japanese companies. As Japan actively recruits skilled professionals internationally, this initiative will provide Assam’s students with a significant advantage, enhancing their employability and opening up extensive career opportunities within Japanese companies and beyond.
In another similar move, Dibrugarh University has introduced a ‘One Year Certificate Course’ in Korean Language in collaboration with the World Fragrant Cooperation (WFC), Sejong, Republic of Korea, and in association with the Borahi Foundation, Assam, earlier in the year 2023.
