KOKRAJHAR: Karbi Anglong district committee of Bodo Cine Artistes Association (BCCA) today mourned the untimely death of an emerging actor Marina Basumatary of Langhin.
Sources said that Marina Basumatary (24 years), daughter of Ashok Basumatary and Anima Basumatary of Jamuguri Village, Langhin area of Karbi Anglong district, was an emerging Bodo actor who died while being taken to the Diphu Medical College Hospital after suffering from a critical disease on Tuesday. She left behind her parents, an elder sister, and a younger sister.
President of the Karbi Anglong District Bodo Cene Artist Association, Jaungasar Basumatary, said that the untimely death of actor Marina was very unfortunate, and Karbi Anglong has lost an emerging actor. Basumatary said that Marina beautifully performed in seven albums till her death. Some of them include ‘Jounam Jounam’, ‘Jaulia Bar,’ ‘Thath Naung,’ among others. Marina also acted in more than three short films. It is noted that the popular emerging actress had been confirmed to work in a film titled ‘Gwrwnthia Swrni’ before she was infected with a critical disease.
Marina was able to win the hearts of audiences within a very short time, being involved with AJ Films & Productions, Director Basumatary of Langhin’s Jaugasa, and focused on many albums and films. She was also working as an assistant cultural editor of Bodo Cene Artists’ Association, Karbi Anglong District Committee.
