Assam: Kampa Borgoyari joins UPPL with over 400 supporters in Grand Ceremony in Chirang district

KOKRAJHAR: Former Deputy Chief of BTC and vice president of the BPF Kampa Borgoyari, along with over 400 supporters, including president and secretaries of different block and primary BPF under 14-Chirang Duar constituency, joined the UPPL in a grand joining ceremony held at Thaikajhora in Chirang district today. 

The Chief of BTC, Pramod Boro, welcomed and warmly felicitated Borgoyari with traditional Aronai. The joining ceremony was also attended by the founder of the UPPL and cabinet minister UG Brahma, Deputy Chief Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, MPs Rwngwra Narzary and Joyanta Basumatary, BTC EMs Ranjit Basumatary, Saikhong Basumatary, Dr. Nilut Swargiary, MLA Nirmal Kr. Brahma, former cabinet minister Chandan Brahma, and senior leaders of the UPPL.

In his speech, the president of the UPPL and BTC Chief Pramod Boro said the UPPL was the regional political party that cares, inclusive of all, and ensures equal rights and development. He said the UPPL had done many landmark achievements in the five years of its rule, which is far more than what the BPF regime did in seventeen years. He also said the government of BTR had been working on adopting missions and visions. To ensure equal justice to all communities, the council government has published Bodoland Vision Documents prepared for 26 communities of BTR, he said, adding that the vision document of the Government of BTR would be published on March 20 next to work for Vikshit Bodoland. 

Former Deputy Chief of BTC and vice president of the BPF, Kampa Borgoyari, said he resigned from the BPF for the greater interest of unification of BPF and UPPL to work together for permanent peace, political stability, and sustainable development of the people of the region. He said that he had observed the political activities of UPPL, which is more democratic and convenient with inclusion of all and has been working with collective decision and collective opinion.

Borgoyary said the time had come for uniting the BPF and the UPPL to work together for peace and development of the people of the region. He also said he will dedicate and work for the welfare of the people.
