BOKAKHAT: A significant meeting of the Golaghat district’s Karikori Youth Association was held today at the ITI in Bokakhat. During the public meeting, presided over by the organization’s President Arshaf Ali, Secretary Nayanjyoti Mazumdar, outlined the objectives. In his address, Secretary Mazumdar presented several points, highlighting that local youths are not being given priority at the Numaligarh Refinery’s processing plant, established in Golaghat district in exchange for the blood of 855 martyrs. It was noted that over two hundred educated local youths attended the meeting, and they unanimously demanded that local youth be given employment priority in the Numaligarh Refinery expansion project over out-of-state workers.

The refinery authorities, in conjunction with the Golaghat District Commissioner, have decided to send a memorandum to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, local legislator Mrinal Saikia, and Bishwajit Phukan, raising demands such as first priority for permanent local youth in the initial phase of employment under the expansion project.

Furthermore, Secretary Mazumdar stated before the media that if the refinery authorities do not promptly implement the organization’s demands, the Golaghat district’s Karikori Youth Association will lead a democratic movement involving local youth.
