Assam: Kokrajhar District Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervor

Along with the rest of the nation, the 76th Republic Day was celebrated by the Kokrajhar district administration at Kokrajhar Government HS & MP School Playground on Sunday with patriotic fervour.

KOKRAJHAR: Along with the rest of the nation, the 76th Republic Day was celebrated by the Kokrajhar district administration at Kokrajhar Government HS & MP School Playground on Sunday with patriotic fervour.

The Chief of BTC Pramod Boro unfurled the national tricolour after inspecting the guard of honour of the contingents of Police, NCC, and students. Before that, he paid glowing tribute to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi at his statue at MG Park and national martyrs at martyrs’ tomb.

In his speech, CEM Boro said that India became a secular democratic republic with the adoption of the Constitution of India in 1952. He expressed his sincere tribute to the national heroes who sacrificed for the Independence of India and the architects of India who designed for the growth and development of the nation.

Boro said that peace had returned to BTR after the UPPL, BJP, and AGP coalition government came to BTC. He said that the people of the region have witnessed a secured region with peaceful coexistence among all sections of societies. He said that the Government of BTR has been working for equal development and justice to all communities. He also said that to ensure qualities and to solve problems of all communities, the Bodoland Community Vision Document was unveiled by the Governor of Assam Lakshman Prasad Acharya on January 30 last. He further added that the government of BTR will work dedicatedly to fulfil their promises with the theme-Peaceful, Smart and Green Bodoland.

The achievers of different fields were felicitated on the occasion and the display of tableau from various departments attracted the spectators. Students of various schools presented cultural performances.
