
KOKRAJHAR: A swimming competition, both for boys and girls, was organized in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Sunday, attracting participants and sports lovers in the region. The event was organized with the coinciding Khel Maharan 2.0 under the zonal level, being held at the Reality Public School, Chandamari, in Kokrajhar.
Participants from different places representing the LACs across the region took part and showcased their sporting talents in the event. The participants featuring athletes under the age groups of 14 and 17, both from the boys and girls categories, participated, which created sporting amusement amongst the citizens.
The event witnessed exciting performances, showcasing the budding swimmers in the region. The athletes competed fiercely, pushing their limits in various swimming categories. The competition not only highlighted the skill and perseverance of the young swimmers but also underscored the importance of sports in fostering discipline.
Gossaigaon MLA, Jiron Basumatary, graced the occasion as a guest and inaugurated the event in the presence of officials from the sports and youth welfare department and distinguished dignitaries.
Basumatary stated that the swimming event has created sporting amusement and encouraged young generations to take up sports careers in their lives. He said that the Khel Maharan program is going on across the state, which received a great response from the citizens.
