KOKRAJHAR: In a significant move towards eradicating tuberculosis, the District Health Services of Kokrajhar in Assam have launched a 100-day intensified campaign as part of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program.

The initiative is in sync with the Government of India’s bold objective of eradicating tuberculosis and making the country TB-free by 2025.

As part of the campaign, district health authorities launched a dedicated awareness-raising ambulance, designed to spread vital information on TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

This mobile unit is designed to reach communities throughout Kokrajhar, raising awareness about the importance of early detection and available treatment options.

A central goal of the campaign is to combat the stigma surrounding tuberculosis, which often prevents patients from seeking prompt medical care. Through awareness efforts and promoting open dialogue, the health department aims to encourage community involvement in the fight against the disease.

The initiative underscores a broader dedication to public health, with district authorities urging citizens to actively participate in the campaign for a healthier, TB-free future in Kokrajhar and beyond.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Sonitpur district administration, in line with the nationwide observance of the 4th Good Governance Week (GGW), launched the campaign ‘Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore’ 2024 from December 19 to December 24, 2024. The initiative aims to promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public administration.

Subtitled ‘Sushasan Saptah: Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore,’ the week-long program focuses on resolving pending public grievances and enhancing service delivery. Officers will visit grievance locations to ensure on-the-spot resolution.

Following the disposal of cases, data and photographs will be uploaded to the Good Governance Portal. The campaign targets the clearance of grievances lodged through the CPGRAM Portal and pending applications submitted via the Sewa Setu Portal. Special field-level grievance redressal camps took place at Block Development Offices, Circle Offices, and other departmental premises.
