Assam Likely to Witness Isolated Rainfall for Next 2 Days

GUWAHATI: Assam along with the rest of the Northeast likely to witness isolated rainfall for the next two days, predicts the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Central part of Assam and Meghalaya are at risk of localised inundation due to rain totals in excess of 50 mm on Friday for 24 hours.

On Wednesday, isolated rain is possible over Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Delhi and Kerala, IMD predicts.

Moreover, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are in for scattered snow with isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday.

The isolated rain will continue on Thursday in Assam, Nagaland and Kerala. However, the state of Sikkim might witness isolated snow on that day.

The state of Assam might also witness hailstorms, and lightning at isolated places till February 4, 2022.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold day to severe cold day conditions are possible over isolated pockets of north Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours and abate thereafter.

Cold day conditions are likely to start over the Northwest region from Thursday, spreading into the West, Central and East region on Friday.

Dense to very dense fog is possible during the morning hours in some pockets of Northwest and Central region on Wednesday as well as East India on Wednesday and Thursday.
