CHIRANG: A tragic incident unfolded at Manas National Park in Assam's Chirang district, near the India-Bhutan border, when a local resident lost his life in an elephant attack. The victim, identified as 60-year-old Anil Barman from No. 2 Dailongjhar village, was part of a group that ventured into the park on Saturday to gather wild vegetables.

During the foraging, the team suddenly came across a wild elephant that attacked them. Though Barman's team members managed to escape safely, he was unable to escape the angry animal and received fatal wounds.
