KOKRAJHAR: A delegation team from the Mising Autonomous Council (MAC), comprising Executive Member (EM) and General Members of the council along with weavers, on an exposure visit to Bodoland Territorial Region, was in Kokrajhar on Wednesday to study about Bodoland Handloom Mission and other handloom developmental activities.

The delegation visited the Integrated Textile Park (ITP) at Karuajan in Baksa district and the ANT campus in Chirang where they engaged with experts and gained firsthand insights into innovative handloom practices. The visit was facilitated by the department of Handloom & Textiles, Government of BTR ensuring meaningful discussions on key aspects of BTR’s handloom ecosystem, production techniques and market linkages. The visit aims to foster exchange of knowledge and collaboration between the two councils, helping the MAC delegation to explore strategies to enhance the handloom sector in Mising populated areas.

The MAC team members expressed their gratitude and thanked the Government of BTR and concerned departmental officials for their warm welcome and felicitation during their visit. They hoped that the visit would further a strong communication between the two councils in handloom and other sectors in the days ahead.
