Assam: Mamoni Raisom Goswami Remembered on her Death Anniversary in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The death anniversary of Gyanpith Awardee and an exponent of Ramayani Literature, Mamoni Raisom Goswami, was observed by Doomdooma Satadol Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSSXX) in association with Ramdhenu Mohila Chora (RMC), Doomdooma, at DSXX Baban on Friday. The meeting was held under the joint co-ordinatorship of DSSXX President Bimala Baruah and President, RMC, Doomdooma Dibyalata Deka. 

Attending the meeting as chief guest, Dr. Meena Devi Baruah said elaborately on the life and achievements of Mamoni Raisom Goswami as a writer and crusader for the cause of poor and destitute women.

The meeting was also addressed by senior journalist Dhiren Deka and poet Mausami Patowari. Anamika Lahkar and Soma Das enthralled the audience by presenting a song of Jayanta Hazarika and Rabindra Sangeet, respectively.

Assam Sangeet ‘Oh mor aponar desh was sung after President Bimala Baruah’ passed her president’s remark, and the meeting came to an end after that.
