

SIVASAGAR: A shocking incident took place at Gohainchuk in Assam's Sivasagar where a man attacked his wife and mother-in-law with a knife before fleeing the scene. The accused, identified as Naba Handique, allegedly assaulted his wife Karabi Boruah and her mother Faguni Boruah leaving both seriously injured.
Following the attack, locals rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Authorities have launched a search operation to apprehend Naba Handique. An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack.
In another similar incident, Bhaben Tanti, a resident of Milanpur, Karchantala, under Jamuguri Police Station, stabbed his wife, Sanjana Tanti, with a machete earlier on March 6 at around 8 pm.
The local residents immediately informed 108 emergency services, after which grievously injured Sanjana was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. Acting swiftly on the information, a team of Jamuguri Police reached the site and arrested Bhaben Tanti. Reports claim that the quarrel began between the two due to some family issues.
Meanwhile, a gruesome crime unfolded in Guwahati’s Ulubari locality, where a man brutally murdered his wife before surrendering to the police. The accused, identified as Rubul Sharma, confessed to having killed his wife, Shreya Bhattacharyya, by beating her to death over a domestic dispute.
