Assam: Man Killed Over Suspected Land Dispute

GUWAHATI: An incident has been registered from Assam's Dibrugarh district on 4th of February night. A man has been hewed to death because of some sort of ongoing land conflict. 

The accused who killed the deceased has been identified as Gaonbura Baori, and is currently 40 years old. Gaonbura stabbed the victime with the help of an axe. Both the accused and the victim were involved in some land dispute from a long time, revealed sources. 

As per the reports, daughter of the deceased victim attempted to stop the event from happening, during which she also got severely injured. However, the girl was shifted to the nearest hospital for medical attention. The deceased has been identified as Maniram Baori. 

The relationship between the accused and the deceased however is yet to be ascertained. As soon as the information was received, a team of police arrived at the spot of incident and nabbed the culprit. A case has been registered regarding the matter under valid IPC sections. 

Just three days prior to this episode, a gruesome episode took place on Wednesday night, where a youth has been severely injured after getting attacked by unidentified miscreants. 

The incident has been reported from Guwahati's Dispur region. The victim has been identified as Abhijit Saikia, son of Supreme Court Lawyer, Nirupama Saikia. Abhijit was attacked during his sleep at his own residence in Dispur's Debdaru path, which is located behind the MLA hostel. As per reports, the miscreants attacked him on his stomach and leg. 

Abhijeet suffered heavy bleeding following the attack, however, was immediately admitted to the GNRC hospital for treatment. As soon as the information was released, a team of Dispur police station rushed to the spot of incident and carried of the investigation process to nab the culprits.
