Guwahati: A small confectioner of Pandu Railway Bazar in Guwahati has been busy preparing for an usual offering to Lord Ganesha in this year's Ganesh Chaturthi. 

The confectioner, Bimal Das, has been engaged in making a 5-kg laddu that will be offered to Lord Ganesha on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Bimal says, "I have been busy since last evening with the preparation and now it's all set. Happy that for the betterment of all of us the 5 kg Laddu will be offered to Baba."

The laddu in question was requested by Ratan Kumar Sen, a resident of Pandu Institute Colony area of Guwahati. This 'laddu' has a special meaning for Sen and his family.

With the spread of the coronavirus, many lives have been shattered.

Now things have slowly come back to normal and with the issue of new set of SOPs, the public can participate in the Puja, provided they follow proper government protocols.

Ratan Kumar Sen is offering the 5-kg laddu to Lord Ganesha with the hope of a better future. He says, "This pandemic has spoiled our life in the last two years. So, for the betterment of all, our Sen family is offering a "5-KG laddu" to Baba for the peace and wellbeing of all."

Ganesh Chaturthi has marked the beginning of puja season in India. Lord Ganesh is believed to be the destroyer of all evils and the bringer of a new change. With this, people are hoping that the blessings of the diety will be showered on all.
