DIBRUGARH: A man was stabbed to death near Assam Agency Fuel Station at Makum road in Tinsukia town on Thursday night.

The deceased identified as Pintu Sharma was reportedly stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon by unknown miscreants, claimed the victim's brother.

The deceased is a resident of Parbatia in Tinsukia town was attacked while he was returning back home in a mini truck (AS 23CC 3237) from the Jagun side.

Meanwhile, the brother of the deceased speaking to the media informed that another person namely Biki Das also sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Tinsukia Civil Hospital in critical condition.

The victim's family had already lodged a complaint with the Tinsukia Sadar Police Station in connection to the incident on Friday morning.

Earlier, a 3-year-old child was allegedly stabbed to death after a mentally unstable person in Cachar district's Dholai snatched the child from his mother.

As per the police, the incident took place early in the morning hours. However, it is yet to ascertain why the accused identified as Kamal Uddin killed the child after snatching him from his mother.

After the incident, locals caught him and thrashed him before handing him to the police.
