Assam Man Tries To Commit Suicide After Wife Gives Birth To boy Instead Of Girl

GUWAHATI: An incident involving a man from Rajabari in Bokakhat was reported from the Jorhat district of Assam. He reportedly jumped off the hospital structure. According to reports, Jitumoni Das, the man, took extreme measures when his wife gave birth to a boy instead of a daughter as her husband had desired.

In the meantime, bystanders who were on the hospital grounds saved the injured person and helped him get admitted to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, where his wife was already being treated for the birth of their kid. Family members allege that Jitumoni was acting strangely following the birth of his son and appeared to be very agitated just before jumping off the building.

After giving birth to a girl child, a woman frequently has to make the ultimate sacrifice or endure domestic abuse in India. However, there is a segment of society that values girls and views them as a disguised form of "Lakshmi."

Jitumoni's mother told the media, "From the last three days we have been in the hospital in a delivery case...he always wanted a girl but after the birth of a boy he was worried and he was also tense due to financial concerns." She said, "He has been in continuous illusion for the previous two days, and we are unable to understand what he is attempting to say."

In a similar incident, Earlier, In his quarters at the Games Village at Basistha, Ramen Sutradhar, a recently hired policeman of the 1st AP Bn who was receiving training at the Odalbakra Police Outpost, committed suicide by hanging himself. According to a police source, Sutradhar is thought to have killed himself on Tuesday night after returning from the outpost in the evening. The deceased was a local of the Chirang neighbourhood.
