Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh Alumni announce Scholarship

Dibrugarh: The alumni of Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh, who joined the institution in the year 1967, celebrated their golden jubilee reunion in 2017, in which they declared that they would be making a commitment to provide scholarship to economically weak and meritorious students of AMCH.

The committee was formed with Dr. Narayan Upadhyaya as president and Dr. Girin Gogoi as secretary. The committee formed a trust named ‘Flashback 67’ in order to provide financial assistance to economically backward but meritorious students of their alma mater. The scholarship amount for each deserving student was fixed at Rs 50,000 per year. The amount will be disbursed through the Principal, AMCH.

With this purpose, on account of the 73rd foundation day of Assam Medical College and Hospital, an economically weak and meritorious student, Dayaban Puran Orang, a third-semester student at AMCH, was awarded a cheque of Rs. 50,000 on November 3.

The Principal of AMCH, Dr. HK Goswami felicitated and introduced the alumni members and lauded their efforts to support needy but meritorious students of the institution. The ‘Flashback 67 Trust’ also hoped that the recipients of this scholarship, would in return, provide their valuable services in the future for the benefit of economically weak and ailing members of the society.
