Assam Medical College and Hospital Doctor Commits Suicide

DIBRUGARH: A doctor committed suicide at his Milannagar residence in Dibrugarh by hanging. The doctor has been identified as Utpal Dutta, Associate Professor of Anaesthesiology at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH). According to police, his body was found hanging in his room on Wednesday morning.

Dibrugarh Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Bitul Chetia said, "Utpal Dutta was suffering from depression for last two years and was under psychiatric treatment. Last night he and his wife are sitting together and after that he went to his room. His wife on Wednesday morning found him hanging in his room." "He was taking psychiatric medicines regularly. His body was sent for post mortem," Chetia said.
