Khumtai: How would you react if a snake cozied up to you? Well that is exactly what had happened to Mrinal Saikia, MLA of Khumtai, Assam. Saikia wrote in a tweet that a python has made Saikia's residence its home and it sometimes sits beside him, sometimes on Saikia's chair "majestically" and the best part, the python stands guard at the gate.

Of course, its a horrifying experience for all the visitors but so far, the python has not harmed any visitor.

Sharing more about the behaviour and antics of his quite uncommon pet, Saikia wrote that the python is busy "pre-winter hunting and I have not seen him for three days".

People do keep snakes as pets but it is rare and uncommon. But it sure is lucky and interesting to have a stray snake snuggle up to you and make your house its home.
