ASSAM: Mild Earthquake of Magnitude 2.8 Jolts Dhubri

Guwahati: A mild earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale struck Assam’s Dhubri district in the early hours of Thursday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported.

The tremor occurred at 1:01 am IST, with the epicenter located at 26.28° N, 89.87° E and at a shallow depth of 10 km.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties, structural damage, or major disruptions were reported following the incident. Residents in certain parts of Dhubri felt light tremors but remained largely unaffected.
