Assam Minister Ranoj Pegu Lays Foundation Stone For Tai Museum In Dhemaji

DHEMAJI: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu laid the foundation stone for the Tai Museum at the Habung Heritage Project in Dhemaji on Friday. He was accompanied by Member of Parliament Pradan Baruah during the ceremony.

The Cultural Affairs Department has sanctioned a Rs. 3 crore project to preserve and showcase the rich heritage of the Tai community. At the event, the minister thanked Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his support and highlighted the project's importance in showcasing Assam’s rich cultural heritage. The Tai Museum is expected to be an important cultural site, offering knowledge about the history, traditions, and contributions of the Tai community.

In addition, the minister also laid the foundation stone for the Dhemaji Circuit House. The upcoming facility, with an estimated cost of Rs. 12 crores, will include two VIP suites, 12 rooms, and a conference hall.

Pegu thanked CM Sarma for his support and said the new building will help improve administration and hospitality in Dhemaji. The decision to construct the modern facility has been taken as part of efforts to improve the infrastructure and provide proper accommodation facilities for the government authorities and visitors.
