Assam: Minor Girl Dies After Being Hit By A Cash- Loaded ATM Van In Dhubri

DHUBRI: In an unfortunate incident, a minor girl in Assam's Dhubri district died after being hit by a speeding ATM cash-loaded van on Tuesday. 

According to sources, the minor girl was returning home from school when a speeding cash-loaded ATM van hit her leaving her in a pool of blood. The minor girl was a student of class 2. 

The incident was reported from the Matiabag area of Gauripur which comes under Assam's Dhubri district. 

The minor was rushed to the Dhubri Medical College Hospital by a group of bystanders who witnessed the tragic incident. The doctors in Dhubri Medical College Hospital after examining the minor and looking at her critical condition advised her to be shifted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital for better treatment. 

The girl died on the way from Dhubri to Guwahati. 

Meanwhile, Gauripur Police have apprehended the driver of the van in connection to the incident. 

In a similar incident a few months ago a minor girl was killed and another girl was critically injured in a road accident in Doboka town in Assam's Hojai district when a vehicle hit them with tremendous power killing one on the spot and grievously injuring the other. 

It is to be noted here that the medical college hospitals which are spread over the length and breadth of Assam should be equipped for any emergency situation that may arise. 

The back and forth that the medical colleges do with the lives of people is sad. A medical college hospital in a district should be equipped with all facilities and if a medical college hospital fails to treat a patient, its status of being a medical college hospital should be checked, according to people concerned at the way the health department is working.
