GUWAHATI: In an incident that triggered a sensation across the city, a young child was reportedly abducted from the city. The incident took place on Monday in the Hatigaon locality of the city.
A six-year-old child was reportedly taken on Monday morning by unidentified child abductors from the Kanaklata Path area of the Sijubari locality of the city, which is under the jurisdiction of the Hatigaon police station of the East Police District of Guwahati.
The parents of the abducted child assert that the offenders managed to evade detection by riding a motorcycle without license plates. The child's age as stated in the case was six years old. The parents claim that the miscreants used a toy to entice the child, who was then taken away by them from the scene of the incident.
From Kanaklata Path in the Sijubari area, the Hatigaon police station was notified of the problem. Authorities simultaneously announced that they had started an investigation into the matter and would soon be detaining the accused. It is still unknown how many people were involved in this act of kidnapping of the child.
It can be mentioned that no information has been received regarding any ransom demand from the abductors. An investigation is still ongoing to nab the perpetrators and rescue the child. Citizens have speculated that this act has been committed by miscreants engaged with a larger child abduction circle active in the region.
