GUWAHATI: In a horrifying event, on March 28, thugs attacked a man in Golaghat, Assam, and shot two rounds of ammunition at his home. 

According to early reports, the criminals entered the home of a man named Jogeshwar Nath, where they discharged two bullets from a 9 mm pistol.  However, there were no reports of any casualties or injuries. 

According to reports, the police have opened an investigation into the event and begun a manhunt to find the miscreants who arrived while covering their faces with black fabric. 

A businessman was allegedly accosted by thugs in Mangaldoi on March 10 and retaliated by firing blank rounds. According to sources, the incident took place in the Muramari section of the region, where the businessman, known as Pabitra Deka, was allegedly pursued by a group of unidentified criminals. He then had no choice except to stop his assault with blank fire. 

Deka was severely injured during the incident when he took a heavy stick to the head. He however, used his quick thinking to frighten the attackers away. The incident happened during a heated disagreement about dump trucks delivering soil to Skill University for building. 

According to sources, one of the vehicles allegedly struck and injured a biker as he was travelling to the institution.  After the incident, a rowdy fight broke out in the vicinity, which caused the situation to worsen. The injured biker was sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment in the interim.

According to authorities, a Class XII student who was taking the current Council of Higher Secondary Exams in Manipur (CoHSEM) was fatally murdered on Saturday night in the northeastern state's Kangpokpi district.

According to the police, the most recent incident was done by two bike-riding miscreants who shot the 17-year-old near his home at Motbung Bazaar. Seigunlal Misao, a deceased student at Damdei Christian College, was attacked at 8.30 p.m. while he was at the market just 200 metres from his home. According to officials, the attackers ran away after performing the crime.
