BOKO: On Saturday, Congress MLA of Chaygaon LAC Rekibuddin Ahmed campaigned for women candidates, including 3 no. Goroimari Zilla Parisad INC Candidate Asmina Haque Choudhury and 12 no. Bhauriya Bhitha Gaon Panchayat’s AP member’s candidate Chandra Bhanu.
During the election rally, ZPC candidate Asmina Haque Choudhury gave a reminder that the Sampupara – NH 17 connected RCC Bridge was constructed by MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed. MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, during his MLA tenure, after a country-made motorboat capsized and totally broke the wooden bridge. Therefore, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed immediately worked for the RCC, and now people from hundreds of villages get relief for transportation. However, she also said that AGP, BJP and TMC are communal political parties, and therefore she urged people to cast their votes for the Congress party.
Jakir Hussain, General Secretary of the Kamrup District Congress Committee, alleged that the BJP, AGP and TMC are communal political parties. However, Hussain said that TMC leader Dulu Ahmed was always a loser in both Assembly and Lok Sabha polls. Hussain compared Dulu Ahmed with Assam’s viral politician Sukur Ali, as Jakir Hussain said, “Though they lost in the Lok Sabha election, Sukur Ali got more votes than Dulu Ahmed in the Lok Sabha election, as Dulu Ahmed got some three thousand votes, but Sukur got eleven thousand votes. Which means Sukur Ali is more popular than Dulu Ahmed.”
During his address, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed recalled the development efforts and stated that voters should not be instructed on who to support in Congress. MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed asserted, “I don’t care for any opposition. In Chaygaon LAC, TMC, AGP and other party candidates may participate in the Panchayat elections; however, at the end of the day people of the area will cast their votes for the Congress party.” To strengthen the women, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed urged people to cast their votes for Congress candidates. Further, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed in his speech said that though the miscreants started attacks on Congress MPs and MLAs, the Congress party does not believe in violence; it believes in peace, and the people will decide the future of the candidates of the parties at the ballot box on May 7
