BOKAKHAT: Residents of the Komargaon outskirts, under the Numaligarh Forest Subdivision, are distressed due to the growing menace of monkeys. Several people have been injured from monkey bites. Farmers have suffered extensive damage. Locals have been unable to cultivate any kind of vegetables or fruits in their fields. The troop of monkeys is becoming increasingly aggressive. Even birds have been unable to lay eggs in their nests due to the disturbance. If the troop is not brought under control, numerous families may suffer significant losses. The same situation is unfolding in the surrounding areas of Numaligarh.
