Assam: National Dengue Day observed in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: The District Health Committee, in collaboration with the District Vector-Borne Disease Control Centre, on Friday organized National Dengue Day with various programmes in Dibrugarh.

An awareness meetings regarding dengue disease were held in various schools of the district, as well as in villages, tea gardens, and urban areas.

In various places of the district, awareness campaigns for dengue fever were held, and surveys were carried out to reduce the breeding sources of the dengue disease.

During the awareness programme, the public were informed about how to prevent deadly diseases like dengue and how to seek treatment through government facilities if infected.

It is noteworthy that dengue is currently one of the most horrific diseases. Every year, millions of people die worldwide due to this deadly disease.

“Seeing the severity of this disease, the government is constantly informing people about the dangers of dengue.

Dengue mainly breeds in stagnant clean water and the period from July to October is the most favourable time for its development,” said an official.
