GOALPARA: The district-level launch of National Deworming Day 2025 was held at JN Memorial Higher Secondary School under Agia BPHC in Assam's Goalpara district.
The event was attended by key officials, including the Joint Director of Health Services, SDM&HO, Agia BPHC and Suchitra Nath, General Member of RHAC, DPM, DME, DCM, and NHM, Goalpara.
The program aimed to raise awareness and promote deworming initiatives for children in the district. The presence of health and district officials highlighted the importance of the day in ensuring the health and well-being of children across Goalpara.
Earlier this month, Goalpara Police organized a training program at the SP Office to educate officers from various police stations on child rights, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), and other key child protection laws.
The session was addressed by senior officials, including the ADC (Social Welfare), DCPO, and Special Public Prosecutor (POCSO), focusing on important aspects of child protection and legal frameworks.
In addition, police officers from Goalpara and Darrang districts participated in fitness activities to promote physical health and teamwork. Officers in Goalpara joined a mass PT session and road run to demonstrate their commitment to staying fit for their duties.
A recent training program was also held for UB/AB personnel from Darrang DEF, Kamrup DEF, and Nalbari DEF, focusing on new criminal laws to enhance legal awareness. Similarly, Sribhumi Police organized a workshop on the new laws, including BNS, BNSS, and BSA 2023, with a written test to assess officers' understanding.
