Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha foundation day to be observed at Harisinga

UDALGURI: The foundation day of Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS) will be observed on the Harisinga Junior College premises with a day-long programme on January 4, 2021. The decision was taken in a meeting of Udalguri district Nepali SahityaSabha held at Golmagaon High School on Sunday.

The meeting was presided over by Gayatri Bhattarai, president of Udalguri district committee of ANSS. The purpose of the meeting was explained by Ram Upadhyaya, the general secretary of the committee. The meeting has also decided to hold the triennial conference at Suklai. The reception committee on that purpose will be formed later. Senior litterateur Tarapati Upadhyaya delivered a speech on the development aspect of Nepali language. Former Principal of Harisinga HS School Lok Bahadur Chhetry noted artiste KrishnakantaMizar, Principal of Udalguri H S School Puspadhar Bastola, among others participated in the discussion. The literary activities of the organisation have stepped up with a view to the triennial conference of ANSS to be held in Biswanath district in February.
