Assam: New Journalist Training Institute Inaugurated in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: A journalist training institute named Creative Communication Centre was inaugurated at Golaghat on Sunday. The institute, which was established at Golaghat under the initiative of eminent writer Amal Chandra Konwar, was inaugurated by eminent social activist Pradeep Goswami by lighting a lamp at the meeting held under the chairmanship of senior journalist Dipen Dutta at the conference hall of the United Chamber of Commerce, Golaghat.

The Vice President of Golaghat Nagarik Manch Biswajit Saikia delivered the inaugural address at the meeting. Eminent environmental activist, senior journalist Apurba Ballabh Goswami, former Professor of DR College Dr Paresh Chandra Dutta, and senior journalist Rajen Pujari, among others, addressed the gathering as the guests of honour.

In his address, Dr Paresh Chandra Dutta said that a journalist should be honest and should have the capacity to ascertain the positive and negative effects on society before preparing a news item. Further, he said that journalists are the fourth pillar of democracy and should refrain from spreading negative news because they harm the society.
