Bokakhat: In Numaligarh, people of all communities—regardless of caste, religion, or creed—celebrated the Bohagi festival on Saturday. At the Rongali Bihu gathering held at the Numaligarh Natya Mandir premises, the flag was hoisted in the morning by Monika Kachari, president of the Numaligarh Shashwati Lekhika Samaroh Samiti. The remembrance ceremony was inaugurated by Padmadhar Kachari, retired headmaster of Numaligarh Higher Secondary School, and social worker Sushil Mes.

The tree plantation programme was inaugurated by Robin Kachari, a prominent social worker from Numaligarh. The drawing competition was inaugurated by Mohen Saikia, retired principal of Numaligarh Higher Secondary School. The stage was inaugurated by the local Mese Kachari Husori group. The invited artists offered musical tributes in the “Mou-Bihuati” segment, which serves as a platform of harmony among all communities in the Numaligarh region.With a resolution to build a beautiful future, the one-day Rongali Bihu celebration was held at the Numaligarh Natya Mandir premises. In the evening, cultural events including creative dance performances and Jeng Bihu competitions were held.
