Assam Nurses' Strike: 47 nurses of Diphu Civil Hospital arrested

Hamren: The All Assam Nurses’ Association, Kabri Anglong branch are on an indefinite strike. On Thursday, 47 staff nurses of Diphu Civil Hospital and 20 NHM nurses were arrested by Karbi Anglong Police from the Diphu Civil Hospital for protesting against the government.

The nurses have been demanding wiping out of the inequality of grade pay of GNM nurses, to fix equal salary for all nurses appointed in the GNM posts, to regularize the jobs of the GNM nurses appointed temporarily (in NHM) on the basis of seniority and to introduce Service Rules to the GNM nurses.
