

HATSINGIMARI: A three-member expert team including the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) of the South Salmara Mankachar District of the state went on an inspection of the rice market of the district on Sunday. He also met and interacted with the farmers as well as the buyers of the rice in the market.
The officials inspected if the farmers are getting the proper value for their crops in the market and encouraged the farmers to follow scientific farming procedures. It is important to note that the state government has set the minimum procuring price of rice at Rs 2040 per quintal of rice.
Previously the public health engineering department had carried out an awareness campaign regarding the implementation Jal Jeevan Mission on Thursday. The public health engineering department of the South Salmara Mankachar district of Assam undertook this initiative. The Tumoni High School of the South Salmara constituency of the state was also associated with this campaign. The authorities organised a street play to spread awareness about the initiative. The mentioned street play was showcased with the aim of making people aware of how they can have access to clean water because of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The play also mentioned the importance of clean drinking water for avoiding several ailments.
And at the beginning of the Month, a youth of Bangladeshi origin was arrested by the state police during an operation carried out in the South Salmara-Mankachar district of the state. A patrol team of Assam Police picked up a doubtful person from near the Beparipara Bridge in the Sukhsor locality located near Hatsingimari in the South Salmara- Mankachar district of Assam. On interrogating him, he was found to be a Bangladeshi citizen who had entered the country illegally. The incident took place at around 12 AM. It was also revealed that the youth in question belongs to the Sonarpara village in Tegra which comes under the Birol Police Station in the Dinajpur district of Bangladesh.
