DIGBOI: The management of Indian Oil Corporation, Assam Oil Division (AOD), Digboi extended technological support to Digboi Community Health Centre (CHC) here on Monday morning during a programme held at the CHC conference hall. The much required medical gadgets worth rupees 11 lakh were formally ceded by Debajit Gogoi, the Executive Director-cum-Digboi Refinery Head to the hospital authority.

In all, 10 equipment donated out of AOD Corporate Responsibility Fund for the FY 2022-2023 included two Digital ECG Machine, one single door Iced lined Blood Bank refrigerator, one single door refrigerator, one Binocular Microscope, Operation Theatre Ceiling LED light, two LED stand lights, two slide staining rack, one vertical autoclave, one deep freezer double doors and one water purifier.

Digboi MLA Suren Phukan, Dr Niraja Saikia along with various AOD top official including Sushant Kr. Das the Chief General Manager (Tech), Dhanjit Baishya Chief General Manager (TS&HSE) Kamal Basumatary, the DGM(HR) were among the dignitaries.

While appreciating the AOD fraternity for partnering the local hospital management in bringing about holistic development in the Digboi CHC over a period of time, Suren Phukan, the Digboi MLA expressed his gratitude towards the AOD Management headed by newly-posted Executive Director, Digboi Debajit Gogoi.

“Once we secure land clearance from Indian Oil, Delhi, we would go for more support systems, infrastructures and enhanced health care services for the people in and around Digboi, Phukan said, who has also been the president of the Hospital Management Committee for past seven years.

Meanwhile, Gogoi, the ED of AOD Digboi aptly apprised the house with a comparative look at the lifestyle of the confined people in present day society with that of the primitive men who were food gatherers leading a nomadic life involving physical works.

“We are confined to works like a robot without much physical involvement which is one of the potential reasons for blockage in veins and arteries that also pave the way for accumulation of bad cholesterol in our body,” said Gogoi who is a gym fanatic.

“Timely diagnosing is as important as the treatment itself which one should prefer off and on to avoid sudden and uncalled disaster,” said the health enthusiast top AOD official adding, “The medical aids and equipment which the AOD has donated today would definitely help the people. I assure you of all possible help and support for the people in and around Digboi with whatever resources allowed within the preview of the AOD CSR purse,” assured Gogoi.

Beside the medical staff, the representatives of AOC Labour Union, office bearers of the hospital management committee also attended the programme.
