Assam: Petrol Price In Guwahati Crosses Rs 100 Mark

On Sunday, the petrol price in Guwhati experienced a massive blow after it crossed the Rs 100 mark, witnessing a hike of 0. 79 per litre. Several other parts of Assam had already been hit by the continuous hikes since last week, with many districts already crossing the century mark.

In addition, the price of diesel was also hiked by 37 paise on Saturday.

The recent increase in prices of the fuel is the 10th hike this week all across India, while the prices have been hiked 13 times already since September 24.

Today, the price of petrol in Guwahati stands at Rs 100.07 per litre.

In a country like India which faced economic downfall due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the increase of prices of fuels is making the survival of those whose lives are directly or indirectly affected by the price hikes very difficult.

Previously, the price of domestic non-subsidised LPG cylinders had been raised by Oil Marketing Companies by Rs 15 from October 6.

A domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi now costs Rs 899.50, an increase from the earlier price of Rs 844.50.

Earlier, the price of the LPG cylinders had been raised by Rs 25 for the second time in one month on September 1. Prior to that, the price of the LPG cylinders was hiked by Rs 25 on August 17.
